He did not mean that the whole Communist Party should be

added to our Kuomintang and establish a systematic organi sa- tion in it so as to monopolize our Kuomintang and

prejudice our National Revolution. Alliance with Communists

is only a term introduced by the Communists themselves.

The admission of individual Communists is not an alliance

with them nor can it mean a co-operation with them in ruling

China. A true member of our Kuomintang and a faithful follower of our late President is guided solely by the

principles of the "Three Aspects of Democracy", and the

teaching of our President. We did foresee that after the

death of our President from over-work and when he had made

every sacrifice to promote actively our National Revolution

for 40 years, the Communists would become reckless in

their intrigues against us. At first they desired to get hold of Kwangtung with all their might, and this gave rise to their great intrigues of March the 20th last year.

Fortunately they were discovered in time and no serious

trouble was caused. But they could never forget their

defeat, while I in a spirit of generosity, did not want

to be too harsh with them, thinking that we could still

cooperate with them as long as they remained in the

fighting line of our National Revolutionaries. We did

expect that they would approved of our National Revolution

by their words, while by their actions they had opposed

our Northern Expedition, for which purpose their leaders had

actually published some writings. The reason for this is

very simple. For they have known that the militarists

are useful tools for creating Communists. The success
